Good morning from this side of the planet. It's another gloomy morning with clouds. Yesterday was the same but luckily no rain. We did get some drizzle in the morning hours today. I would really love if sun peeps out today even for some time.
How is the weather at your end? News of heat waves are coming from various corners of the globe. Keep yourself safe and well hydrated.
I woke up at 5 in the morning today. I am keeping this week as a practicing ground to get back to my regular sleep wake rhythm and other routine as I start going back to work from next week
And it's a little more than 3 hours since I have been awake. I am done with my morning things...some bit of exercise that includes 15 minutes walk around house, 10 minutes of chair Yoga and 5 minutes of breathing exercises. I did some bit of cleaning around the house, just tidying up and make things look presentable. My OCD triggers if things are even a bit out of order
.
And then spent some time making this idli powder that you see in the picture. It's a healthy dish that you can eat as a side dish with hot rice, idles and Dosa. It's urad dal, handful of peanuts, sesame seeds and red chillies roasted, cooled and then grinded to a powder. It can stay fresh in fridge for more than a month if packed in air tight container. They also come handy when you are in a rush and don't have time to make chutney for your morning breakfast. Just add some warm water and season it. The chutney is ready. Since work starts next week, such things come handy in morning rush.
Next few days I will be making few more such things that save time on busy days.
Our cook came and prepared lunch while we enjoyed our tea. I just need to make hot rice in the noon. This cook is a big help since my surgery. He is good and hygienic. And he really helps save my energy and time that I can use doing something else. Well, I do cook something or the other as my family can't go without my cooking
. Today I will make Kadai chicken for them.
Yesterday, I could not be much here as I got busy with some school related work before I start going there next week.
Let's see how the day unfolds today. Would keep coming here whenever I can
Take care.

You have had such a busy day,
Good luck when you get back to work,
I think the idli powder is like a cereal and good for breakfast or snacks. I remember the cornmeal that the nuns served us during our high school days in the convent. It has the same appearance.

It's not like a cereal. It's not the main breakfast item. It's very spicy and one can't have it in big portion. Just a little mixed with warm water can be like a side dip for dishes. And it can be sprinkled over hot rice to add the spicy flavour.

That's great that you have a cook. I've always said if I win the lottery, I want a chef and a chauffeur! It's really hot here. Enjoy your day.

Thank you. Happy to be slowly getting back to normalcy. Humidity makes things worse. Stay safe from the heat. Stay hydrated.
