Bengalies love roasted neem leaves with brinjal.

There is a dish in bengal called neem begun. Begun includes the brinjal. Neem includes the neem leaves. Both are cooked together and eaten with rice. Generally they are appetizer. They are good for health also.

This is a very popular Bengali recipe. My Bengali friends keep talking about it. I have not tried it. Don't neem leaves make the dish very bitter?

yes Arunimaji yes the neem leaves make the food bitter but the roasted form with brinjal tastes nice. It increases the appetite for any other food

@arunima25 Thanks Arunimaji, it is like karela or ucche called bitter gourd. When it is made in a dish called shukto it tastes good and along with drumstick raw bananas potatoes create a delicious vegetable. It is bitter but tasty

Never heard of neem leaves. Are they just grown in your place?

yes Cheung the neem tree is used for medicines tooth paste and also soaps
