Good evening mylotters!! Here we go again with a Flood Watch!!! On Memorial Day we were in a flood. The last time there was a flood was 85 years earlier on Memorial Day!! I still think about it and when it rains a lot I am reminded of the flood that I, our dog and neighbors were trapped in until locals rescued us by boats. When I learned of this "Watch", flashbacks came running through my mind and I began to cry and I prayed that He will protect us and our village from another flood. I tried to keep positive that it hadn't been 85 years and that a few days ago we were up in the 100's but when I read our rain gauge we had over 1-1/2 inches of rain and it was expected to rain all day and all night, fear began to set in. Then the hubby came home from work and as usual we drove around. We took our camper out to higher grounds, so if the flood would come, once again we would have some place to stay at. We were trying to be positive but yet we wanted to be safe just in case the worst scenario came up. As we were driving around, my husband stopped and told me I had to get out of the pickup, go in front of the pickup and look up in the sky. I was thinking, now what does he want me to see? So, not really wanting to play this game, I did as he told me!!! There in front of me was this beautiful rainbow!! Tears came flowing down and a sense of happiness and calmness came over me!!! I was reminded of Noah in the Bible in Genesis 9." Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth. ” God sealed His promise with a rainbow in the sky. I then knew that every thing would be alright and that God would protect us. Do you believe the rainbow was a sign from God? ~Peace~
