In India there are kharif and rabi crops

In majority of the farmlands the crops are grown in two halves of the year. They are called kharif crops and rabi crops. The mustard farms produce mustard during winter months. The farms look mustard yellow during these months. The mustard is used in the making of oil for cooking and also paste is used as spice.

Our main cooking oil is mustard oil.

I didnt even know there was such a thing.
I have never seen it mentioned in a recipe.

Very beautiful yellow farmland.
We seldom use mustard as oil for cooking. But it's common to use it as spice.
