Oh, bother...

LOL--I was going to title this, "Oh, brother" but saying what a good friend used to say (which he got from Winnie the Pooh) is what was produced by my typing fingers, and that seems to work, too.
I went on my first errand, which was going to the pharmacy to pick up some meds. When I was done and caught the bus, I expected it to change to the route that goes downtown once it got to the shopping center bus stop, but it started going the way I had just gone!
!?!?!
At one point I asked the driver (actually, I noted there was a driver I knew, and a driver I didn't, so I'm wondering if it was a training situation) "Wasn't this bus supposed to become route 11 and we're supposed to be going downtown?"
The driver I knew explained that they'd changed that, so now one route doesn't switch to the other. I sure wish they'd let me know.
When I got back to the shopping center bus stop I caught the Route 11, which went downtown and to the library, where I dropped off a book and picked up a few more. I was trying to finish the book that I had brought with me so I could drop it off too, but I couldn't quite get to the end. It will have to go back to the library next time.
Then I tried to get on the computer and of course, it said I had no internet or sites couldn't be reached and all of that nonsense. I tried to unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in 15 minutes later like the guy the other day told me to, but that didn't do anything to fix it. I called Staples and told their tech guy what it was doing, and he said some things that didn't seem to work, either.
I hated to bug him, but I finally went upstairs to ask my neighbor to look at it. By that time I had opened a page trying to fix things myself, but then I thought the better of it and asked my neighbor.
Of course, he fixed it, and said if it did it again just to call him.
I tried to wrap the pastor's present, but now I can't figure out where I put the candles (I was going to stick one on the top). Oh, well. They'll turn up in time for someone else's birthday.
I just need to find some ribbon.
So...yeah. On the way home the second time, I was going to stop by the grocery store and get something to go with lunch, but of course I forgot.
Anyway, I hope that you are having a good morning/afternoon/evening/etc. in your part of myLot land!
PS: Oh, and I went to get the mail, which was just something about auto insurance. Whoopee.

The ride home on the paratransit (bus) was a hoot yesterday. They have a new system and app that are screwing things up. But don't tell app advocates that because they think apps streamline and save time.
I got the call that my ride would be there in "approximately 10 minutes," just as it was pulling into the parking lot.
My friend and I were certain we's be riding together, but she hadn't received a call. I asked the driver if she was on his list of riders. She was. We both go on.
Enroute to the next passenger's location, the GPS was urging the drive to go back to where it picked me up and get my friend (already on the bus).
While the third passenger was boarding, the driver called Dispatch and they marked my friend as "picked up."
The third passenger was not going far, but enroute to his home, GPS kept telling the driver to turn around and go pick him up.
Once we got to his place, the driver called Dispatch again—this time to mark that passenger as dropped off.
I was next, and guess he had to call Dispatch again. I can only imagine the conversation he and my friend had for the rest of the ride.

@xstitcher I know—right! It's bad enough that since this app launched, they now send two texts and place two phone calls to each rider per leg of the trip. Meaning, two texts and calls for the pickup and two texts and phone calls for the return.
