Happy Fourth of July 2025!

We slept in a bit this morning—no surprise there, considering we were up until almost 3 a.m. She child’s sleep schedule is totally off the rails, and it’s definitely starting to show. Case in point: she wandered into our room at 2:30 a.m. asking if we could get something down from the attic. Girl, what?! She was still asleep when I tiptoed through her room earlier. I just backed out slowly and let her be. Anyway, we did a little work on the truck this morning, had a light lunch, and now we're just chilling for a couple of hours before we get ready to head to the lake for the parade. After that, we’re taking the kids to a friend’s house to hang out and set off fireworks and do all the fun, slightly chaotic things that come with the 4th of July. We still need to drag the cooler down from the attic, fill it with ice, and load it up with drinks—because I’ll be darned if I’m paying $4 to $7 for a soda at an event. No thank you, inflation. I’ll try to take some pictures and share them later, assuming I don’t forget or fall asleep mid-firework. The parade kicks off at 4 (weather permitting), followed by a commencement ceremony, a concert, and fireworks. Then we’re off to our friend’s place for even more fireworks and kid energy in the wild. That’s our plan for the day. The kids got to pick out about $100 worth of fireworks yesterday, so we’ll either take them with us or light them off when we get home—though I’m guessing it’ll be pretty late by then. We’re just going to wing it and see how the evening goes. Hope everyone has a great Fourth! Be safe, have fun, and remember: don’t drink and drive—drink and pass out in the yard like a true American patriot. ??????

$4 - $7 for a drink? That is blackmailing. The last time I buy such drinks was when I was in the F1 a couple of years back.

I had a neighbor who couldn’t walk, but got around in a scooter, get a DUI in our apartment complex once. I think it was for the Fourth of July.
