Not a Fall season

We in India do not have a Fall season where leaves drop - a colourful view in foreign countries.
The photo is of leaves that dropped off, of our cashew tree that was slowly dying It had the most number of flowers - something one calls the last flicker and last flicker indeed it was.
After the drop of leaves the flowers dropped too and finally the tree died.
It was a shock for us as we did not know how it died and only came to know later that the tree was being being by termites at the roots.

I had no idea that a tree could be killed in that manner.
How long do you think that the termites had been killing it for?

In my country the only trees that look as beautiful as the trees in North America are the not native trees the come from there. I wish we had those trees with leaves that turn red. But we don´t.
