Hasn't it been centuries since the Bubonic Plague was an issue over in Europe? Wait, I looked it up. "The Black Death" or Plague is a bacterial infection known for killing tens of millions in 14th century Europe
An Arizona resident has died of Bubonic Plague.
Apparently there's an average of about seven cases reported annually in the U.S, mostly in the Western States. I did not know that.
They are posting signs for residents that Bubonic Plague is transmitted by prairie dogs and other rodents, most especially in the fleas they carry.
The good news is that it's treatable nowadays with antibiotics.

I read about this. Yes, there are cases every year. Flesh-eating disease, bubonic plague...there are all sorts of nasty things in the US.

I just read up on this. I was aware that cases still pop up here and there and it's mostly treatable. I was surprised to find out that there were still epidemic events world wide.
WHO says...
Plague epidemics have occurred in Africa, Asia, and South America; but since the 1990s, most human cases have occurred in Africa. The three most endemic countries are the Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, and Peru. In Madagascar cases of bubonic plague are reported nearly every year, during the epidemic season between September and April.
This from the WHO website.
It's nice to live in a place where antibiotics are available.

Fantastic, and I am sure Kennedy will not urge vaccinations. We are all probably doomed.

That was centuries ago and modern meds have remedied it. The only thing we do is to keep ourselves safe and clean.
