I am too imperfect to truly forgive some that have wronged me in my life. I could say the words, I forgive you, but deep inside, I knew that I couldn't forgive. The betrayal was too huge.
I do not carry anger. I do not dwell on the betrayal. I have just moved on as if these people don't exist. Maybe one day, I'll grow sufficiently to let it all go and forgive.
I'm just not there yet.

I have been trying for 30 years. Like I said, I can say the words but deep down I'm unable to forgive.

You’re right that forgiveness can bring peace to the heart and mind, and in many cases, letting go really is the best way forward. But I also believe it depends on the gravity of the offense. Some things can’t just be swept under the rug with a simple “let’s move on.” Sometimes, healing takes time, accountability, and a sincere effort to make things right before we can truly let bygones be bygones.

Others say it's easy to forgive but it's hard to forget. I don't think everyone wants to forgive and forget.

You are right about this
like they say ..let bygones be bygones
But it is not always easy to do that
I do try and am willing to try
With everyone who I have had bygones with
I can be the bigger person

If ai can do that I will have succeeded

Holding on to anger, grudges, or old wounds only weighs us down, emotionally and mentally.

Good to see you after so long. Hope that all is okay with you. Yes, that's the right thing to do but not the easy one. You will take your time to learn if with age and growing up.
