Do you use your local debit card outside of your country?

Some banks are now placing limits on spending on local debit cards in foreign countries. This means higher charges may apply when you use your local bank debit cards while you are on vacation. Do you still use your local debit card when you travelled outside of your country?

Do they deduct extra fees when you use them abroad?

@ogbenishyna44 No. But there is a monthly fee to have one.

I am so old, that I used personal checks in Canada when I traveled there.
I seriously doubt I'll ever leave the country again. There are many places that I'd like to visit. I just seriously doubt I'll see any of them.
Every card I have ever had was from a local bank but it was designated a VISA or MasterCard. The banks themselves were branches of a National Bank.

We try not to use our cards when we go abroad. You can put spending money on a card and that’s what we have done in the past. So our credit / debit cards don’t need to be used.

Nopef for I haven't gone or traveled abroad. My debit card is used locally but I paid my business transaction abroad using it.
