'The Shining' and the hotel

I am not a fan of horror movies. I haven't watched Stephen King's "The Shining", the horror movie. The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, was one of the places that we visited before. The hotel is the real-life hotel that had inspired Stephen King to write his book, which in turn was made into a movie directed by Stanley Kubrick. The Shining is purportedly one of the most haunting and horrifying films of the decade. I felt the chills as we toured the hotel, and it almost felt like the characters were there even though I hadn't read the book. Are you a horror film fan? What films scared you the most? The Shining is quite tame. I don't think this was Kubrick's best work by a long way. It's 45 years old now and it's a better watch now than it was in 1980 but it's still almost tepid.

Is it? I am not a good judge because I don't usually watch horror movies/dramas. It seems you've watched a lot, Which one is the scariest for you.

We went to the hotel on the west coast where the outside shots were taken that were in the movie. It was quite creepy to be there. There are a lot of horror films that I won't watch anymore since my husband is gone.

I had watched Insidious the movie before maybe years ago. I felt so shocked and then I had a lot of goosebumps in that kind of horror movie.

I absolutely LOVE horror movies. Al genres within the horror category. I can't remember a movie scaring me that much but the books did. For example, Stephen King's "IT" had me creeped out.

"IT"? It must have been so scary. I've never heard of it. That's how ignorant I am of horror movies.
