Why send Venezuelan deportees to Africa?

July 17, 2025 1:06am CST
I don't understand this but President Trump seems to be acting funny these days especially with his deportation arrangement. Nigeria , a West African country has rejected America's decision to send Veneuelan deportees to the country. Should this be an issue in the first place? Why send people from other countries to an unknown country

Because it's the country which is willing to accept deportees.

Just now
@ogbenishyna44 Nigeria has the reason to reject those deportees.

Venezuela does not accept them; so they send them to countries willing to accept them.

that's interesting because Nigeria has also rejected them.

It is highly irresponsible to deport individuals to a country that is not their country of origin rather than ensuring their return to the appropriate nation. I can understand Nigeria's refusal in such cases, as they would bear the responsibility for individuals who are not citizens or residents of their country.

I have no earthly idea why he would do that.

The more obtuse the destination the more likely it's to put off people coming to America

the reason is that Trump is evil. He figures people won't come to the US if they think it will happen to him. Being ignorant he doesn't realise that many people hire illegals to work for them because they pay less and keep their businesses under the 'radar'
