Geoffrey Hinton feels AI development should be limited

As we have been talking a lot about AI these days, I stumbled on a YouTube Shorts that spoke about AI. Here the video creator talked about AI's godfather Geoffrey Hinton. Even Geoffrey Hinton has expressed his concerns and fears about the dangers AI can possess.
According to him the AI development should be kept under check. I think that's the best way. Let it serve us. It should not dominate us.

I haven't read the robot story that has gone against its creator's wish. What did it do by the way?
There was a movie in India a few years back named Robot. It also had the same storyline. The robot was created. But later it grew emotions and fell in love with its master's girlfriend.
