Baguio City is considered the Simla of the Philippines or the Summer Capital of the country because of its fair weather. While the rest of the country smolders due to intense humidity and heat, Baguio offers a relaxing, peaceful, and refreshing atmosphere, as it is located atop the mountains of the Cordilleras. During rainy days, the fog becomes so thick that driving through the winding roads becomes dangerous.
However, during summer, the weather is great for gallivanting and visiting the tourist spots in the city: The Grotto, The Mansion, Wright Park, Botanical Garden, Asin Hot Springs, Burnham Park, Maryhurst Seminary, La Trinidad, and many more. Visitors from the 'lowlands' visit the city to relax and take a respite from the heat.
Due to the cold weather, strawberries and vegetables are easily grown. You always knew someone came from Baguio because of the fresh strawberries or jams, or veggies he would bring home.
Have you ever been to Baguio? (For my local friends)
For my foreign friends, do visit the place if you happen to stop by our country.
You will have fun.

Baguio really is a gem! I’ve been there a few times, and the cool weather is such a refreshing break from the heat down in the lowlands. It’s the most unique place to be during summer—while the rest of the country is sweltering hot, Baguio stays way cooler and more comfortable. There’s something charming about walking around Burnham Park with a jacket on in the middle of summer. And yes—the strawberries! You can’t leave Baguio without a bag of fresh strawberries or jars of strawberry jam. It’s such a cozy, welcoming city. For anyone who hasn’t been, definitely add it to your list—you’ll fall in love with its cool air and warm charm.

@Jenaisle I have visited many places, including Tagaytay, Boracay, and Coron. But the vibes in Baguio are very different from everywhere else. The climate is one thing. The closest one is Tagaytay, and some claim that some parts of Bukidnon have a similar climate to Baguio.

I tasted strawberries before and they were good. I visited Baguio with my relatives and that was 9 years ago.

I've been to Baguio last 2015. I was lucky to be part of the delegate of our school in PACSA. I was looking forward to experience strawberry picking that time but when we got there the strawberry farm was closed. so i just decided to buy strawberry jam and ube jam. The vegetable are also fresh the price are not so expensive. i bought a lot of vegetables and fruits there including yakoon. hopefully this coming december i could come back with my family.
