She Needed A Friend

My friend came and got me this morning for our meeting, then took me home, but came back this afternoon because we were helping another friend, but she was upset too, the sell of her house fell through, and the story of the loss of an entire family triggered emotions, I know not everyone is aware of her story, and I am not going to share it, but loss is something we can all relate to, and so is grief!
And as I reminded her today, grief doesn’t have a timeline, its not one size fit all, and what she experienced at the beginning of this year is not something I would wish on anyone!
And yet I have heard people making heartless comments on the death of celebrities, or even wishing I'll will on others and that certainly is not something Jesus would condone!
When I see someone hurting I choose to offer them comfort to listen and to share stories, because Jesus wants us to have compassion!
My friend needed me today, and I will always do my best to be there for her as a friend, the same is true for the other friends sho reach out to me!

Your friend is lucky to have someone like you—someone who shows up, listens, and reminds them that their grief is valid. You’re absolutely right: grief has no set timeline, and no two people experience it the same way. It’s heartbreaking to hear how some respond with cruelty or indifference, especially in moments that call for compassion. I really admire how you lead with empathy and faith—it’s what being a true friend is all about. Keep being that light for others; it matters more than you know.

@Michellekidwell I believe it is everyone's responsibility as fellow brothers and sisters to do for one another. However, I believe they are rare in many. Keep that as your mantra for all beings you encounter, whether friends, family, or neighbors.
