Birds in our garden are free to fly. They are not in cages. The only exception was love birds. Love birds are normally kept in cages as they cannot survive in the wild We had a huge place for them in our garden that was closed with a net. We created a natural environment for them inside that space. They were a hapy lot until............ A cat tore opened the net and killed a few and some may have flown out.. That was a heart-rending experience for us. Image credit:

Wow, that is heartbreaking. My uncle enjoys caring for them. He breeds them and sells to hobbyists. I remember his place being noisy but pleasant to look at. It's cute, colorful, and lively to see them fly or group together in clumps. He has one very tamed bird that he can carry out of the cage and keep on his shoulder wherever he goes. But now that he's gone, none of the family members are able to continue the hobby.

@allknowing Oh i think that would be awesome to see. I hadn't know that when l was there. I guess his grandkids had other interests too. The house has become an eatery and they seem to prosper from that endeavor.

@rsa101 That is good to know They are doing something that makes them happy and brings in money too Sad you missed visiting the bird park in Singapore. That is the plus point of joining a tour.

I enjoyed their chirps. Sad that no one took up your uncle's hobby. In Singapore there was a bird park where trained birids showed their prowess. It was fun watching them
