If You Could Erase One Invention from the History, What Would It Be?

I was thinking about how certain inventions have completely changed the world, some for the better, others maybe not so much. If you had the power to erase one invention from history, what would you choose and why?
I’d probably erase plastic packaging. It’s useful, yes, but the environmental damage it’s caused is massive. We might have found better, eco-friendly alternatives if it never existed in the first place.

This is only the second time I saw this.
Hey! Now that I have you here, just what is the "drizzle" that you put on your waffles and fish?

I can't think of anything, because all I can see it -- its all very useful and important.
I think the thing that I would love to add on them, is the awareness on how not to abuse all those technology, like plastics and papers.

Voting machines.
If paper ballots were used, there would never be a question of election fraud.
The paper ballots would be there and could be recounted by anyone, anytime.
Plastic packaging is a good idea too, but you still need some type of packaging that seals, can be used to separate items and is water resistant. Many of the previous packaging methods weren't efficient and had a greater cost. The waxed cardboard and Styrofoam is unfriendly to the environment too.
