I've never really had a good answer to this. What is the difference between something that makes you who you are and something you enjoy or participate in?
Someone who dances, they're a dancer. But is that an activity they participate in or is it who they are?

It can be both. I was a maintenance person. I put effort into learning the skills for my trade. What a person does doesn't necessarily define who they are.
It's no different for a dancer, an attorney or a doctor. Some may see their profession as who they are but at the end of their careers, they are left with who they really are.
That inner voice. The drive. The wants. The needs. What you're willing to do to meet those goals. THATS who you are.
A doctor could be a caring person. A dancer may want to entertain. An attorney may want to bring justice. An occupation isn't who a person is. It's the way you live your life that defines who you are.
Most often, its others that determine who we are based on all their interactions the person.
