Have you ever bathed in the nude or watched people bathing in the nude in public? During those golden afternoons in Taloctoc, Tanudan, bathing was simple, exhilarating, and completely natural. After long days in the fields, we, kids and adults, would slip into the clear, bubbling Chico River and swim in the nude. There was no shame, no hesitation. Children laughing under the lush mountain sky. The water, filled with sunlight and laughter, refreshed us as we dove, splashed, and played among wild berries and guavas on the riverbank. In those moments, our bodies felt free and connected to nature. Even adults were in their birthday suits. No one saw malice in our nakedness, only pure joy, innocence, and belonging. Those memories remain etched in my heart, a timeless reminder of childhood freedom in the untouched beauty of Kalinga. I learned that nowadays, village people wear underwear or bathing suits.
