Who did NOT see this song coming? I blasted this as I drove to the Route 66 tourist stop yesterday, and for quite a while after I left. Yes, the reason a lot of people went there in the 80s was because of this song. Put a pin in the map with this rocker. It was the gold standard of luxury for decades (“through the years” information at the Route 66 museums had the price of Cadillacs at $3,500 while other cars were under $1,000, to give you an indication).
