Impressive Putin

Vladimir Putin has been playing Trump from their first encounter. It isn't hard to do, act impressed, defer, the usual performance when dealing with a narcissist. But Putin goes further, because of his training as a KGB officer. For sixteen years Putin was a spy, a successful one, rising in ranks. He went into politics to put his skills into public use. He started a war in Ukraine as a kind of diversion to keep the Russian population focused elsewhere. Putin must have laughed himself silly when he heard Trump announce that he would end the war in a day. Trump thinking he is equal to Putin? Ridiculous. Putin got Trump to bark at Zelensky, toss him out of the White House. And then, to underline how he controlled Trump, made it rather clear he had been using him. Trump, feeling hurt, whined and acted as if he realised he was a pawn. This is why Putin offers to meet him, to make the world know Trump is his faithful dog. Discussing Ukraine, leaving Zelensky out of the meeting, is something no other leader would do. But Trump, so excited he is going to see his massa, has no problem with it. Putin will get Trump to agree to whatever, which will not be in the interest of Ukraine. Zelensky will not accept the deal. This will enrage Trump and cause him to again step away from Ukraine. Fortunately, there are European powers which see through Putin and Trump and have their own relationship with Ukraine which has nothing to do with Trump. Get the popcorn now.

it is really sad that Putin invaded...for no substantial reason, thinking it would be an easy win
