I’ve been watching The Chosen on Netflix and really enjoying it. I like how it shows Jesus in a more relatable way, not just the very serious holy man most movies usually portray. The series is planned to go up to 7 seasons. Season 6 will cover the Crucifixion, with its finale hitting theaters, and Season 7 will be the last one, ending with the Resurrection in 2028. Of course, we all know how the story ends, but it’s still so interesting to watch how the director and producers choose to bring it to life on screen. I like that it has a clear ending, though it feels a little bittersweet knowing it’ll wrap up in just a few years. Do you prefer shows with a set ending, or ones that keep going as long as possible?

I remember watching the movie The Passion of Christ years ago and I am sure what you are watching will have a semblance of that

Yes, I saw it, but this one is a series, and I believe the characters' portrayals of Jesus differ. He is typically portrayed as a very devout and serious man in earlier films. Even though he has divine abilities, he is portrayed here as an ordinary human. He joins in parties, makes his sermons humorous, and even breaks down in tears with his mother when he's frustrated. He illustrates the challenges that we face on a daily basis as humans. In previous movies they usually depict him as a very serious and holy man. But here he is depicted like a normal human but with divine powers. He enjoys life by joining in parties, has a sense of humor in his sermons, even cries with his mother out of frustration,. He shows what we humans encounter as human being does in everyday lives.

@allknowing That is true and it really is what we all see, that Christ is much more approachable and relatable since he acts like we normal humans are and not something special. I also think Christ lived a normal human life. One that can become happy, sad, angry and frustrated and not something as very serious.

@rsa101 That 'one among us' will be effective as that is what will impress the viewers. How He overcomes situations that you and I face will be a learning process fo the viewers

This airs on regular broadcast television here too. It had done really well in the ratings. I don’t think I have a preference on shows with definite endings or not.

I'm happy that it's broadcast because it might attract a larger audience there. I find the story intriguing because Jesus is shown to be fairly human by playing with friends, attending social events, and expressing his frustrations with his mother. That is different from how we portray him in our faith, and it may even be true in some respects.h his mom. That's something new and perhaps true in some ways than what we portray him ib our faith.
