Stages of River

Have you ever noticed or have any idea of stages of river, well my son does he had a project of making a river in a chart and explained it so well and his thinking is unimaginable. He tries to do everything kind of alrounder.

At first the source the river starts in the mountains from melting snow or rainfall.
This stage is called the First Stage.Steep slope ? water flows very fast so it cuts deep into the land. Canyons and waterfalls often form here. The river comes down from the mountains into gentler slopes. The river becomes wider as valleys develops and then it joins to the ocean.
