In America, being 'politically correct' meant supressing your actual opinion. What might have been said in previous days was swallowed. This created a society of dishonesty.
With the ending of that hypocracy, many people are overwhelmed by the hatred. They thought it was gone. They thought race/religion/nationality didn't define who they were.
It did and does.
Seeing the firing of many non-whites from American government positions, the ceasing of aid to Africa, the wild deportation of so many people has left those who were deceived by the silence provoked by 'political correctness' confused, afraid, just beginning to realise they were deceived.
The silence in America's Black communities admits the fear they have. Speaking up, protesting is as dangerous in America as it would be under any dictatorship.
There is nothing new about the hate, it was always there, but kept quiet.

I come across this term "political correctness" while attending one of the course work under sociology of education. What I have learn is that how we should be careful in addressing any issues..
Sometimes I started to feel helpless, which also makes me think why we all are sensitive or some group is making it. I am still confuse
