Has anyone been to Hawaii and had the chance to visit Pearl Harbor?

Pearl Harbor - The Memorial for those lost in the war. The ship is under water directly below the memorial and can be seen.

Has anyone on here been to Hawaii and had the chance to visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial? I was there when I was younger and it was very sad and amazing to see the ship below the memorial that got sunk during the war. What are your views on this?

It did give me the chills when I went there on vacation and had a chance to visit Pearl Harbor. It must have been hard on you living there.

It was. I was about 6 when my parents took me to see it.To this day I can picture it.

i remember going there once on a school trip for history class. it was sad to see some of these things and of course see the videos and documenteris they have. i also had the pleasure of visit Hiroshima in Japan as well. that was equally sad as well since i did partially feel responsible for it. war is stupid, but at least we can learn from our mistakes.

I have never been to Japan but that had to be very sad as well. War is stupid and wish that we all could get along and not have wars. We can learn from our mistakes but will our countries be willing to learn from those mistakes and make things better. Let us hope so. Thank you for your response.

I went to Hawaii about 3 years ago. I fell in love with Hawaii. I got to visit Pearl Harbor on the Island of Oahu. It was such a beatufiul scene. It was sad knowing what had happened there years back. It was so silent.

Hawaii is the most beautiful state that I have ever been to and am part Hawaiian as my dad was born there. I have many relatives that live out there. Oahu is great and love the beaches and everything. It was very sad to know what happened during the war and seeing the ship below the memorial.
