Do you think Wireless will one day replace wired? And if so why?

Since people are finding out how easy it is to get into an unsecured wireless and people don't want to deal with securing their wirless I think wireless is loosing popularity. I am starting to see more and more devices that are wired but allow you to move your internet connection anywhere in the home. People still don't think wireless connections are secure and I can't blame them.
