Did You Have The Wedding You Wanted?

They say little girls dream about their weddings. And that they want big fancy dresses and a lot of bridesmaids, flowers, and a huge reception (party).
I never wanted those things.
The first time I got married (I've been married 3 times, but only to two different men. That's a whole other story) I was 21 years old and did a "traditional wedding" under pressure from my girlfriend's mother. My own parents were both silent and clueless in the matter. So I wore a $100 white dress and veil and had a maid of honor and got married in a church and had a small reception.
Wedding #2 I got married in my back yard with a Justice of the Peace and my dad as my "maid of honor." Just 4 of us.
Wedding #3 was in a chapel in a cemetery. The ceremony was exactly 4 minutes long. There were about 20 people in attendance and we all went out to lunch afterwards.
Tell me about your wedding. Was it everything you wanted it to be?

Well, you know I’m single, and maybe I should have known that would happen because I never pictured my wedding. I just assumed I’d go to the old country church my dad grew up in. That’s closed down now, so maybe that should be a hint.
My mom’s wedding was small, but my sister’s wedding was a production.

My first one was at the courthouse. It was actually a small and intimate thing in a lawyer, celebrants office. It was actually fun. My second wedding was a traditional one in a church with multiple guests. Hoping time 3 if it happens is a destination wedding.

We paid for our wedding; so it was small. I did have a long dress that I found for a bargain price..my husband wore a tux. We had a steak dinner with about 25 people. The biggest mistake we made was not hiring a photographer. My husband's uncle took the pictures. There are very few of them. No one from my side of the family was there.
