It came as a gift from my son’s girlfriend, and I started it on September 1. As of today, I’m still not done, but every time I work on it, I forget the world exists and just dive into the fun. I’ve gotten hooked on diamond art by numbers. It’s no walk in the park—you’ve got to meticulously place each tiny colored bead in its rightful spot on the canvas until the entire picture is covered. It’s like an artsy game of Where’s Waldo, but with beads. Surprisingly, it’s kind of therapeutic—getting away from my phone and laptop feels like a mini digital detox, and it keeps me busy all day long. I just hope I can finish it, though, because there are still about a gazillion beads left to stick, and at this rate, I might need to hire an assistant!

Imagine a cross-stitch frame, but instead of sewing colorful threads, you painstakingly stick tiny diamond-shaped pieces onto the design. Sounds easy, right? Except it wasn’t—it turned into an epic battle for my poor eyes and aching back. Yet, somehow, after almost a week of intense focus and determination, I found myself oddly satisfied, as if I had climbed a tiny, sparkly Mount Everest.

@allknowing You can, but be ready to strain your eyes and possibly give your back a workout before diving into it. I believe there's a Buddhist practice where they create intricate designs and cover them with colorful sand, but I’m not sure what they’re called.

@rsa101 Thanks for recognizing.
I'm so pre-occupied with other things and I always forgot to engage here but it's always good to try to have a comeback. It's good to see members who still stays over the years. I think others were gone too but happy to see new people coming in also.

There is another mylotter who loves diamond painting. She does them all the time. She is on here on Tuesdays.

Indeed, what it gave me was a full-blown digital detox after a week of obsessively focusing on it. I completely forgot the world existed while I was on it, like I’d been transported to another dimension. After every break I took, I felt utterly drained yet somehow bizarrely ecstatic, as if exhaustion and happiness had teamed up to confuse me.
