Good that our government has arrangements to collect our garbage at the door. They visit us every day We only give the dry garbage such as plastic, empty bottles, et al but the wet garbage is dumped in compost pits We have many of them This year we had loads of jack fruits that were dumped. We could not harvest them and they just dropped. We have our kitchen waste dumped in the pits. We let the garbage decompose for a year of so when it is ready for use The twigs and dry leaves are put in the incinerator and the ash is used as a fertilizer as well We do not use artificial fertilizers

You can never make too much compost, if you have a garden! I have eight compost bins and all our food waste (peelings etc) goes in as well as grass clippings, twigs, leaves, paper and cardboard. I shred up larger branches to add, and in autumn I gather fallen leaves off the road outside. It's also a secure way to dispose of confidential papers!
