Peppie is a well behaved boy and we have no occasion to be rude to him ever
But when he visits the neighbours may be he misbehaves there and they show him the broom
When the maid here picks the broom to sweep he sees it and runs away from her.
Why else would he do that?
Any answers?

@allknowing seems like a pretty good guess to me

My guess is that he may have experienced a broom scare at the neighbours'

I think your idea might be right . Have any of your neighbours mentioned anything. ?

One of the several reasons given in that link is that they have experienced being hit by a broom. But not in our house Probably at the neighbours'

That might be the reason. You are just assuming it, maybe he is just scared of the broom..Or just staying at safe distance anticipating that it might hurt.
