"Side by side" conversation

I got this term from @Kayla Tsukino from one of her posts where she talked about her husband and friend having a side by side conversation
A side by side conversatio is rare these days What is normally done is through video, mail or messaging.
I would love to have a side by side conversation with my close family and friends but that is not happening
When was the last time you had a side by side coversaiton with any of your friends and family?

It is a sad situation In the good old days we used to have neigbours, friends and close family visiting but that is history now.
