It's Wednesday which means it's hump day. We've hit the middle of the week and usually that also means a middle of the week slump.
For me, I just keep going lol.
We called on dad before I left this morning for work. I'm down Chris's today with her grandmother. Dad is doing well, he's almost off the support BP meds but she did up his pain meds because it looked like he was uncomfortable. Well, he has a tube down his nose and one in his throat, this is why he's sedated people! He's not supposed to be awake with that stuff in. It's showing that he is still bleeding but it's slowed a lot. We're making great progress and it's happening faster than I actually thought. I'm hoping we wake him up by the end of the week.
Gram is a whole different scenario. So I didn't put this in yesterday but she has masses on her esophagus, stomach and liver. She was having really bad heartburn and so she finally went to get checked out and that's what it is. We found out last week it is cancer. We've been cooking her meals and checking on her often. She's just been having bad days. She has an appointment with an oncologist on Monday and we'll see what can be done.
I've been throwing myself into everything else around me. I told my mother we handle things differently. She wallows and breaks down. I throw myself into whatever I have going on at the time.
I'll be holding a CPR class for a friend, her husband and her kid. This will be class one that I need to finish my instructor certification. I have a second class on the 21st which will finish it.
Over the last weekend my husband and I completed Instructor one for the Fire Department and I finally got my Pro Board certification for the Instructor class I took in June. I'm officially an instructor lol.
I've picked up quite a few shifts at EMS these past few weeks. I'm really happy about it and I'm hoping to pick up more. I'm still looking for a class to go up to an advanced EMT. It'll be hard for me to do, I won't even pretend about that. Advanced you do IVs and my hands shake sometimes so there's no point in pretending it won't be difficult. I'm going for it though.
The goal to get my caretaker certification in still in progress. That's just a money issue. It's $150 for the classes and all so I just need to put a little ahead. My husband isn't getting paid for this week so that's part of the reason it's tight right now.
The shop is doing well. I'll be putting it out at my house Saturday. Instead of going to McKays we decided to try and make a little money. I don't see dad coming home on Monday so we have at least another week. I have new fall shirts and there's also some football and breast cancer awareness shirts that are in the making. I'm also making bracelets and crystals now. They're pretty awesome if I do say so myself lol.
Cleaning has been non stop. I've been taking it room by room as I have off. Now tomorrow and I think Friday will be focusing on our bedroom. I started working on books but I haven't had the time that I thought I would to work on them. Now I want to get them done and some other things cleaned.
The kitchen will be a major task and I'll probably wait until hubby gets home. We really need to clean the stove after my Ramen mess. That is a funny story in hindsight. Not so much at the time. Ramen is the reason my hand is burned and I can only use it for so long. So good but reaches unholy temps when cooking then it takes forever to cool down.
I caught up on reading a bit. I'm on Last Chance Seduction by Carrie Ann Ryan. Once this one is done I'll be caught up on her ARCS. Probably just in time to read the new Nora. It comes out next month I think and is the end of the Lost Bride trilogy.
I think that's it. I have been busy but like I said, I cope with stress by throwing myself into everything else.
What's everyone else up to today?
