Think you used enough dynamite there, Butch?
-----------The Sundance Kid, AKA Robert Redford
The Grim Reaper Giveth and the Grim Reaper taketh away. Exactly one week ago, he, very generously, gaveth us the much-needed and far too-long delayed extermination of Charlie Kirk. Then, last night, very sadly, he tooketh Robert Redford ((Robert Redford, Oscar-winning director, actor and indie patriarch, dies at 89, (Article Linked Below)).
Bob made a lot of great movies, and you've likely deduced from today's epigram which one was my favorite. But was that my favorite Robert Redford performance? No.
No. For that, we have to look past the macro big-screen picture and focus instead on the micro small screen known as television. At the same time, we also have to jump back to Fractous Friday, January 5, 1962, so we can watch "Nothing in the Dark."
It was the only Twilight Zone Bob starred in, and it remains my favorite Robert Redford performance. He played Mr. Death, AKA Harold Beldon. He escorted an old lady named Wanda Dunn into the Afterlife and in the process, taught her that there is nothing to fear.
Another great thing about "Nothing In The Dark (NITD)" is the way it influenced "Dead Like Me," another of my favorite TV shows. In "NITD," Wanda tells Harold that she has seen Death many times take people just by touching them. It is the same way the Reapers take people in "Dead Like Me."
Another thing that has always impressed me is the way Harold Beldon sounds a lot like Hari Seldon, the mathematics professor at Streeling University on the planet Trantor who invented psychohistory (("Foundation," Isaac Asimov, 1951)).
At this juncture, many of you, my 226.4 Billion Devoted, Dedicated Daily Readers, are saying, "Sir, you've said many nice things about Robert Redford, the Liberal Environmentalist, while continuing to say mean things about Charlie Kirk. Can you now give me a reason to not think you're just another Radical Leftist Hack funded by George Soros? Do you have anything mean to say about Robert Redford?"
Well, I don't like "Out Of Africa (1985)." There were several centuries there in the 1980s and 90s when the airlines felt some sort of obligation to show it on every flight out of AND into Africa. I hated those flights.
To make matters worse, it was my ex-wife's favorite movie, so I had already had the misfortune of seeing it dozens of times before I was subjected to it in the air.
If that doesn't prove I'm not being paid by George Soros, I don't know what will.
With that in mind, let's go to TACO Tuesday, September 23, 1969, to see what the Cosmic Universal Anthem Robert Redford Clip Of The Month Club Anthem Robert Redford Clip is for today.
RIP, Bob.

I thought you are making a book now to read here in myLot.
Anyway, is that a hate you got there for Charlie Kirk?
I hope when you finally need it, remember that Jesus will never reject you and will always be the same, remember that, okay, whatever life takes you, whatever hates you feel towards Christ, remember He is the only God who will never turn away from you. he loves you infinitely. God bless. Remember that always.
