Brain eating Amoeba

Kerala a State in India has reported 24 deaths as a result of the brain eating Amoeba. A further study has revealed that it is due to the brain eating Amoeba that enters the brain through the nose where dirty water enters. All public swimming pools have been closed and a warning given not to rinse nose with any water Sad story

Also found in southern US states apparently. In fact according to Wikipedia more than 40% of known cases occur in the US (although I imagine that many cases are not diagnosed).

This would have happened due to not cleaning the swimming pool they have to maintain it. It's a very disturbing news.

@allknowing Surely it isn't new. It was first reported in 1965 and before that I guess it just wasn't understood.

Once in a blue moon, news will break here of a brain eating amoeba killing a person who went swimming in a random river. It is very sad, and I can’t imagine dying that way.
