As a remedy to take care of dry eyes it is recommended a hot compress on eyes for around 10 minutes But the hot compress loses its heat within four or five minutes
I wondr if it is ok to break the time by soaking the compress repeatedly in hot water whenever the compress loses its heat
I have bee using eye drops but they do not seem to work

My husband has dry eyes. He keeps hot water in a bowl, dips a thick towel in it, squeezes and keeps on his eyes. He repeats it a few time. Keeping a thick warm towel on the compressor will help too.

@marguicha is also doing the same And this is when one wants a continuous ten minute session. I also read that one can dip the towel repeatedly in hot water as and when it gets cold Perhaps I will do it that way
Has ti helped your husband? And does he do it every day?

@allknowing My husband has glaucoma and dry eyes in his genes. My father in law lost complete vision in one eye and partial in other due to negligence and late diagnosis..And now, his elder sister is suffering the same in one of her eyes, she is 58. She too neglected it for a while. I made it very clear and was adamant that he goes for eye check up regularly..Three years back, he was diagnosed with glaucoma in one eye .With regular eye drops, we have arrested it there and it is not getting worse. I am giving him hot water twice for this dry eye. When he travels, he misses them.

I cover the compress with a warm towel. That works for my skin too.

@allknowing The compress is made of a soft wet fabric. And the towel is a lot bigger and thicker. So it lasts longer.
