Anyone have thyroid disorder? Can you tell me about the struggles you've had and meds you've tried?

Yup, hyper active thyroid here! Tons of weight loss and severe headaches. I have swallowed a million pills just to ease the headaches. The weight loss has finally resolved itself with meds, but it is impossible to gain weight. My levels are fine now but it was a very scary experience when I was diagnosed. I look at the bright side now - I got to buy a whole new wardrobe!

I have hypo thyroid. It is bad. They always have a hard time keeping my meds right. I have gained tons of weight, along with other problems. You would think that after ten years they would have me regulated by now.

Crazymom, it sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I've been fighting mine for 12 years now and have not had an ounce of improvement since the day I was diagnosed.

I don't know if anyone is still on here from this discussion, but I am new so I thought I would hop in. I, too, have been on thyroid medication for over 10 years. It seems like I have not had any improvement, but once I got frustrated and stopped taking my Synthroid. I quickly found out that there is quite a bit of improvement on the medication! I realized how bad things were before the medication, so at least I have that to keep me somewhat in good spirits. I am tired every day, and some days I just wonder why I bothered getting out of bed. I exercise like a crazy person sometimes and just get no where with weight loss. It sucks, but it's good to know that we are not alone.
