Kenyan Media Houses facing big blow as companies prefer influencers in advertising

Technological explosion continues to bring with it a world of challenges. Traditional media houses are among the worst hit when it comes to technology’s dynamics. In Kenya, many companies are choosing influencers on social media to market their products instead of traditional Radio and TV stations. Newspapers are almost being phased out and very few companies place their adverts and advertising feature stories in the papers. Influential bloggers and socialites have taken over! In fact many media houses are cutting staff pays or simply laying off staff since it is becoming too difficult to pay them due to reduced adverts.
