A new doorbell….with nosey screen !

A few weeks ago my Moms doorbell broke. She has had a quite a few years. At first The Mister thought it was just the batteries, so he changed those ….no such luck.
So since then we have been trying to find a replacement.
Shouldn’t be too difficult I hear you say …..ha ha ….think again dear MyLotters …..
She needed a doorbell that has one of those screens, so that you can see who is at the door before you open it. My Mom is 87 and on her own now and obviously we want to make sure she feels safe. It’s easy enough to find what she needs …..IF ….she has the photos of the visitors sent to her phone !!!
She is 87 and doesn’t use a mobile phone, nor does she want to have to carry one around with her around the house/ garden !
Anyway, we …..eventually…..found what we needed, on good old Amazon.
It has arrived and The Mister will sort it out, connect it , etc at the weekend.

I have one that my hubby never installed. It has a separate screen since I don't have a smartphone. Your Mom will be much more secure with the new doorbell.

She will indeed. If it works okay I will get one for us. We have a security camera but it goes to The Misters phone when people go past the house or come to the door. I don’t want it on my phone as I can’t have it pinging all the time when I’m at work. So, really we have no bell ….we can’t see folk coming up our drive and if I’m in the kitchen at the back of the house or upstairs I can’t hear knocking at the door.

@Traceyjayne I like the fact that you can talk to them and ask them to identify themselves before you open the door.

Being older, being a woman, being an older woman, it is definitely needed. My dad got me a doorbell camera that links to my phone, but it hasn’t been installed yet. I mostly want to see who is trying to steal from me, and who is spitting in front of my door. A fine lot I’m stuck with, huh.

@Traceyjayne It’s not. But I live in low income housing, and I’m kind of stuck.
