When the twins married the twins ……

United Kingdom

I’ve just been reading an article about a pair of twin sisters who married a pair of twin brothers. This happened back in the 70’s. Not only did they marry but they had a double wedding, both sets getting married on the same day in a joint ceremony. They then lived only a mile apart then both couples went on to have a son the following year. Only a few months apart. One couple had four children and the other had two children. Due to the nature of their parents birth these 6 children were not only cousins but also classed as siblings ….. Amazing news I think. Sadly only one of the four is still alive. Interesting and true story though. What are your thoughts …..?

That actually happened a couple of years ago too. A set of twins married twins, both got pregnant at the same time, and both had babies of the same gender.

That's an absolutely fascinating story! It really makes you think about the unique bonds and complex family dynamics that would create. Those children having such an unusual genetic relationship is both amazing and a little mind-bending. Thanks for sharing this intriguing bit of history!

Pleased you enjoyed it ….i don’t very often find such interesting stories but this one just caught my attention. I do know a set of twins that married another set of twins, but sadly neither couple had children.

@Traceyjayne That's still an incredible connection to have in your circle, even without children. It must make for some fascinating family gatherings and conversations. Thanks for sharing that extra bit—it really shows how unique life can be.
