13 Miles To Go

United States

I was looking at the odometer on my car and realized that in 13 more miles it'll turn to 25,000 miles on it. I bought the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk used in 2020 with 13,280 miles already on it. That means that in 5 years I've only driven the car 11,720 miles or 2,344 miles per year. I really like my Jeep and don't plan to get rid of it any time soon.

My car only has 43,525 miles on it, and it’s a 2002 Honda CRV. Of course, that’s not when I got it. The older lady my dad bought it from had bought it brand new, but she was elderly, and had only driven it to the doctor. It was pristine.

@LooeyVille Oh yeah. My dad bought me a used truck when I was 16 (he said he would if I got straight A’s) and he sold it and bought a new used vehicle for me every 6 or so years so it always pays for itself. That way neither one of us ever had to come up with money for a vehicle for me since they’re always the same low price. I have to drive. I had to shuttle my mom around for appointments with her dementia while my dad worked, and I go to the doctor too often to get someone else to take me. The closest bus stop is 3 miles away. It’s a necessity.

@AmbiePam I don't know why I thought you rode the bus or walked. Silly me!

Not being much a motorist I take that isn't a great deal. Is your Jeep a large vehicle?

It's a mid-size SUV but by European standards it would be considered large.
