Last night I watched the terrifying news of the massive earthquake in Phillipines. The news shook me.
I have many friends from Phillipines on mylot. I'm anxious about them. Don't know whether they are safe with their friends and families
I have been praying for them.
Today there is not a single comment from them.

I did not watch news so this post is the first I heard of it. 7.6 Richter is very high.
I know about it because we are a country prone to earthquakes and know how much damage they can cause.

It was a massive, terrifying Earthquake. I don't know the casualty. But what I saw in the news was heartbreaking. We had experienced such a destructive earthquake way back in 1999. It has caused Tsunami that changed the shape of the earth for ever.

What happened in Phillipines was disastrous. The earthquake that shook our country had resulted in a Tsunami. It has taken place in 1999.
Earthquake is a natural disaster. We never know when it takes place. That's why we can't take remedial.actions before it actually happens.

@Shivram59 Tsunamis are not only caused by earthquakes. In 2001, 2018 and 2019, tsunamis occurred in Indonesia and killed at least more than 1,000 people each time.

Thank you for the prayers. I am from the Philippines and we had been experiencing a series of quakes these past days. Our country is located along the 'ring of fire', a region in the rim of the Pacific Ocean hence, making us susceptable to earthquakes. We are truly grateful for your prayers for the safety of our nation.

Thank you, my friend. Your country is really located at a vulnerable area. My teacher who taught me maths when I was a school student had told me about it.
We, from India, pray for you, your family and for your country. May God save you all
