What's your take on how technology is affecting relationships?
I can see it both ways.
While on the one hand we can use technology to reach out globally and have instant communication with people, it also prevents people from actually talking with each other face to face or on the phone.
I've read that many young people don't know how to communicate, relate, or interact with other humans.
I guess it all depends on how people online and real-world relationships and their time.

It depends on the person. Maybe we oldsters keep more in touch by phone and in person than the kids nowadays; BUT we use Facebook, email and MyLot to contact those around the world.

The best thing is that you can connect with anyone in a matter of moments. With no Internet how do you communicate? See I have no phone and used to use Text now over the net to call them since the do not have a PC. It worked for a while and then something happened and i could not longer get Text Now, So no way to get in touch with my friends, I sent a letter when I had some problems here in my life but they never responded so if I ever get in touch agian it will be onely when and if I get a phone, So technology make communication a breeze,

I think it depends on the person and how they are raised. While it does bridge the gap, you're not wrong in the fact that kids today don't know how to conduct themselves in scoial situations. Being blind, while I was tought how to make eye contact for example, I don't know if I'm doing it or not. I'll also, for the same reason, give others the impression I'm ignoring them.
However, I think how I was raised, and was amoung those watching technology evolve into what it is today I'm at an advantage. If the aboved mentioned things aren't in play, I can hold a conversation very well. I know how to hold a phone conversation, even though I perfer using the internet and text message.
However, I know peple who think there's something wrong with them, because they stopped using their learned social skills. Social skills are like a muscle that degrades when rarely or not used. And, while I could blame technology for it, (it does play a role yes) Parenting also plays a role, too.

The good side of technology is learning skills needed for my line of work like expressing my views on social media, The bad part is not allowing me to spend quality time with my relatives more often,
