What’s your tipple?

My wine guy dropped off a case of 6 bottles at my house today while I was out. Six reds from Italy, Australia and Argentina - I’m so promiscuous. Once dinner was in the oven I decided to treat myself to a pre-dinner quaff, but I found the task of choosing to be a bit problematic. I plumped for an Australian Cabernet Sauvignon and I chose well. Two things jumped out at me from the label. Firstly, all profits from this wine go to a children’s cancer hospital in Melbourne, so I had two glasses since it’s for a worthy cause. Secondly, the vintner advises that the wine is best enjoyed before 20.30 which I found quite startling. What happens if you don’t drink it till nine o’clock? I’ve never seen that on a wine label before so I put on my glasses and saw that the advice was to drink the wine before the year 2030. But it was a very acceptable draught of vintage, a bit of a departure from my favourite wine from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. If you are a wine drinker, what’s your favourite?
