In diwali different types of mud diya are created. One form of diya is the conch diya. It looks like a conch. In every pious occassion for the Hindus the event begins by blowing the conch. There is oil put on top and the cotton is lit in the conch diya

I love conch. I have collected a couple of them. I would really like to have one conch diya. Maybe next Diwali, I will make one myself and even teach my students to make one in their clay and pottery classes.
