i dont think they should have uniforms but they should have enforced dress codes that everyone has to advide by not just some people. plus i think if schools want you to weear uniforms they should supply them because they are not that cheap. also by wearing uniforms i feel that people dont get to express them selves by the way they dress. but in some cases there is a plus side to because then kids wouldnt be teased that there clothing isnt popular because they would all have something alike

i think that schools should have uniforms , i think it gives the schoo lcass, and it also means that kids get used to wearing a uniform so when they decide to work in the public place they wear a suit or madybe in police, or in abulabce , theyall wear uniforms, so isnt it betetr to get them adjusted to the ideal , have a nice day :)

I used to believe that uniforms were a bad idea, but looking at it now, with adult eyes, I hate to say that I can see a lot of benefits to it. When I was in school (in the age of dinosaurs) we had dress codes. Skirts had to be at the knee, no sexy or revealing clothes, etc. When school started this year and I was driving about town, I couldn't believe how some of the kids were dressed...and that their parents would let them go out the door looking like that! When you go to school, it's to learn, and not to see who's 'better dressed' or who can afford the more expensive brand name clothes. Now-a-days, if you don't have brand name sneakers, jeans, etc, you're not 'in.' While I agree there should be individuality, to a point, I think this kind of attitude teaches kids to appreciate others for what they wear or have, as opposed to knowing the kid for who they are and how they act. Uniforms make everybody belong to the same class. You don't know if they are economically privileged or poorer than a church mouse. When uniforms are used, everybody is judged upon how they act, not by what they wear. When I say uniforms, I know most people think of the Catholic schools plaid skirts, etc. But to me, a uniform could be something as simple as a black skirt (or pants) and a white shirt and street shoes. It kills me every time I read in the paper where kids have been beat up so that someone could steal their Nikes, Prada purse, or their leather jacket, etc. How often do you read of a Catholic school girl getting robbed for their plaid skirt or blazer? Just a thought...

uniform restricts a child's individuality. there are some kids out there who express themselves though their wardrobe and by forcing them to wear uniforms, you are prohibiting them from showing their individuality and creativity. i think what the school can do is only not to allow students from wearing clothes that bear all. and if they still insist on a uniform, then they themselves should proivde it to the students. it's not cheap at all!

No everyone should dress how fells School uniforms are common in elementary and secondary schools in many nations. They are the most widely known form of student uniform, other types of which include uniforms worn by students participating in higher vocational training, such as in health related occupations. Traditionally, school uniforms have been subdued and professional. Boys' uniforms often consist of dark pants and light-colored shirt, tie plus a jacket in cold weather. A girl's might consist of a tie, a skirt and blouse. The gender-specific uniforms have been a point of contention, and some schools permit female students to choose either skirt or trousers. The use of a blazer or suit-like jacket has come into favour in some areas. Management of the school uniform program is an important task. In continental Europe, uniforms have not been required in public (state-sponsored) schools. Private schools, though, often have a school uniform or a strict dress code. [citation needed] This is different in the United Kingdom & Ireland however, where the majority of state schools adopt a uniform for a more formal look.

No, there should not be mandatory school uniforms in public schools and here is why. When one of my kids schools explored the possibility of changing they had a parent meeting, which included a speaker who shares the pros and con of uniforms and gives you the reasoning to help you choose. There were more cons then pros. The common reasons parents want uniforms were: You can't hide weapons cause uniforms are more body formed and fitting--the guy proved that you can indeed hide a weapon and that any object can be used as a weapon. Another reason parents give is that it will make a kid have pride and therefore won't be a problem in school and it will stop the promiscuous dress and behavior, unfortunately, this is far from true because you can take the most deviant and bad behaved student and stick them in a uniform and all you will have is a disobedient student in a uniform--it doesn't change their attitude or behavior. What it came down to, was this guy showing us that the only real reasons to go with uniforms was that they looked nice and it made the school look like a private school and more upscaled. Other than that, it generally made school a negative environment for the kids to want to be in, their attitudes would not be improved by uniforms. We parents voted and did not choose uniforms.

equality - equality
I think they should mentain a dress code to show an evenness between them.. else their may be a sentiment of being inferior to those who can't afford good or rather costly clothes... So I feel schools should follow the dresscode na das far as the availaibility is concernt yeah they should give the dress materials from the Schools itself..

I think there should be uniforms. You can express who you are without clothing to do so. I hate the thought of unfortunate kids getting teased for what they wear (happens ALL the time as we all know). For the sake of everyone involved I think they should!

yes definitely schools should have uniforms.. this is because of a single but quite important fact. that is, they should know the sense of discipline. uniform gives students a feelings of belonging to the same level. if students are allowed to wear what they wish then kids will wear as per their status. this will bring kid of poor family at downside even in the beginning of their life where they should learn how to overcome these things. so it is must i guess.

I really dont want to get into ethinicity about uniforms. everone keeps argueing for the so many benifits if it, but to me having similar unifor really has a charm of its own which is not explinable. though i used to hate wearing the same uniform daily to school, now i really enjoy relishing those sweet memories.

I think there are both pros and cons to uniforms.I also think if schools are going to mandate uniforms they should order them for the students so that everyone truly is uniform, they could order them in bulk and get them pretty cheaply.I like uniforms because with 4 kids in school we can buy 2 or 3 uniforms for each child instead of trying to get 5 outfits for each child.one drawback is in the middle of the school year it is hard to find the items you need to replace.kids have many ways to express their individuality clothing isnt the only way...encourage kids to build web sites, start blogs, they can customize cell phones and the such ...there are many ways to show a true individual.

I think that uniforms should be mandatory. I think that it would help with unacceptable outfits and also make students feel more equal.
