The One-legged Myna

I find her sometimes in our backyard , looking for food. I recognise her as she has only one leg. She comes to our backyard where she finds some bread or biscuits. I often wonder how she may have lost one of her legs. Some illness? Some accident? A predator attack? I wish she could speak or if I could understand bird language, I would have known the tragedy that robbed her of a leg. Some days back I saw her near the highway intersection where there are many shops. I guess she was looking for grains there. I wish, we were friends. I wanted to say hi but there is a barrier between us and I don't know how I can breach it.

I am really intrigued by the fact that some people have gift of understanding birds and animals language. Birds are chirping and we often associate that to happiness. I am sure that they too have sad times.

It surely is. Some species of mynas are believed to imitate human language.
