Every time I deal with George's mounting medical problems, I'm reminded why we need universal healthcare.

Remember when I told you I was able to schedule George's appointments and get everything in order to get his tube out? Well, I lied. Sort of.... Advent Health waited until today, to request authorzation from the VA to pay for GGeorge's test tomorrow. The va, of course, said 'no'. A new referal for community care would be needed. That could take six months, if I'm lucky. Thankfully.... George recently qulified for Humana Medicare because he turned 65 Sunday. So, I had to switch the insurance or we'll have to pay out-of-pocket, for the test. But, without it, we can't move forward with George's tube removal. And, if anyone, doctor or otherwise tries to just yank it out, he could die from bleeding they can't see or control, so this endoscopy is the safest way to get it done. I got a bigger headache trying to explain all of this to George, because the lady on the phone needed his verbal concent to tell me, the VA doesn't want to pay for it. And, it was not easy getting the questions answered, because he gave his social security number instead of his date of birth. And he doesn't know what phone numbers I'm using where, because I have a couple. That's not his fault. Most of the time, I just have to tell people, I'm his legal wife and that's usually the end of it. But, every now and again, I'll get that ONE that insists I have to be the power of aternoy on record. It's whatever.... For me, things aren't much better. I got paid from social security yesterday. I only got 806 out of the 1356 I normally get. After doing some math, they were supposed to start taking 183.20 for medicare part b, but I never recived a leter saying they were going to do that, or when to expect it. In addation there's a conflict when I see my details. It says I have no deductions or medicare priminimes, and should be getting the full 1356, but they also took three months worth of the 183.20. And, due to reduced staff at offices, it's a waste of my time and breath. I'm hoping it's an oversight and I'll be rembersed, but I'm not holding my breath.

George and I survived this long because we were raised right.

And you have to wait an hour to talk to anyone in the government. I hope it all gets squared away.

No one would be there, so there's no point. I'm not happy about it, we're surviving, but does that mean I have to like it? Does that mean I can't wish for something better?

What a nightmare. You must be wasting so much time getting through all this stuff and it's all so stressful, it takes its toll on your health too
