Ear Bone Sore and Sinuses

My right ear drum is ruptured, got that way in 1985. I have a humming, sometimes louder at times. But here recently the bones in my ear on the outside have been sore at times. I was thinking it might be something that happens later after an ear drum ruptures. It started hurting again this afternoon and I checked with some medical sites online and found out that this can happen from sinuses! Eight months ago I moved to an apartment at the top of a hill. And not even thinking about it at the time going uphill can affect your sinuses. Does anyone else have this problem with their ear bones?
