The BBC is under serious threat from Trump. After all those funny, entertaining and often damaging press conference in Trump's two spells as President, his claims that various newspapers were ' fake news' turned out to be true! This really embarrassing for the U.K and the BBC. Someone did actually edit a clip to make Trump look guilty over the January 6th uprising. He is now threatening to sue the BBC for one billion dollars for defamation of character, which is ironic as Trump is the king of defamation as well as damaging as we , the taxpayers, fund the BBC and will have to meet his legal bills and payoff. But he is right this time and the BBC have really lost their integrity on this. If the BBC won't pay up and fight it will be very expensive but if we settle at $20 million or something with a full apology the BBC still looks weak and not to be trusted. Its a dangerous time for the traditional media.
There is bit more to this than just Trump and a poor edit. The BBC has not been backing Israel in the war and that is not what Israel likes. There are prominent Jews in the worlds political media power positions and same here. The BBC's last few main political correspondents and some key news presenters have been all Jewish.
The BBC top man was removed by the board this week over the edit , a chap called David Grossman allegedly leaking emails on this edit thing to get rid of CEO Davie. .Other things had narked Israel, like a BBC documentary about Gaza that forget to tell the viewers the main protagonist and narrator was the son of a HAMAS minister. The had to apologize over that. They also back trans women over women's rights. BBC women were not happy. A guy can put high heels and a wig on, claim to be female, and enter womens private spaces, outrageous. BBC editorial didn't seem to have a problem with that.
Another chap on the board , Robbie Gibb, was trying to get the BBC to do more right wing leaning stories as the BBC of late has been very left wing, backing trans people and all sorts. During the BRexit debate in 2016 the BBC rarely allowed presenters and guests to back leaving the E.U as deemed bigoted and right wing opinion so most coverage ended pro liberal Remain by default. It didn't stop us leaving but the BBC clearly wanted to stay in Europe and have never forgiven the British people for wanting to leave, mainly because the Leave voters were not left wing and middle class like them. They were preachy over it and the thought police.
It looks like a coup of sorts to remove the head of the BBC so the right can push their conservative politics. It also looks like some journalists at the Jewish Chronicle newspaper in the U.K also leaked emails to remove Tim Davie. But for me Im fed up of HAVING to pay £180 per year to buy the BBC license fee or risk prison if I dont. It should be commercialised with TV adverts to pay for it in the modern age and this bill got rid of. I hope this legal case will lead to that.
