I haven't read the novel but after seeing this I think I just might. I really liked the film. If you are into the genre then I strongly suggest you watch it and enjoy it. Never thought I'd see the actress from Pearl play a normal level headed role before this, but I loved her in it and she's proven she has some range at least emotionally for film. I thought the aesthetic was so familiar and well done for the story and when the credits rolled, one name made it all click and make sense as to why it felt so familiar and was so enthralling for me. Guillermo Del Toro, a man of many amazing works. I am a big fan of his and the movie made me think of The Strain, another one of my favorites from his works. He used an actor who was on the show based on the book. He really is just an amazing mind and will forever hold a top spot on my list of filmmakers/authors.
